4-Day Calving Season Safari – Midrange Accommodation

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha & Optional City Tour

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be met by our team and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy an optional city tour, including the Cultural Heritage art gallery, lively local markets, and the Maasai Market for a vibrant cultural experience and souvenir shopping.

Day 2: Arusha to Ndutu

After breakfast, begin your journey toward Ndutu in the southern Serengeti ecosystem, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. From December to March, Ndutu is the stage for the wildebeest calving season, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras give birth daily. The lush grasses provide nourishment and visibility, attracting both newborns and predators. Enjoy a full afternoon game drive before heading to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Full-Day Ndutu Game Drive – Calving Season

Start early with an optional sunrise game drive followed by breakfast, or depart with packed meals for a full-day adventure. This is the best time to witness the dramatic calving season, with wildebeests and zebras giving birth on the plains while predators lurk nearby. Spend the day exploring the vast open grasslands and return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Ndutu to Ngorongoro Crater & Return to Arusha

After an early breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the world’s largest intact caldera for a half-day game drive, with opportunities to spot elephants, buffaloes, hippos, lions, hyenas, and the rare black rhino. After lunch, ascend the crater and drive back to Arusha (approx. 4 hours). Drop-off will be at your hotel or directly at the airport.
