OVERVIEW

This 9 days safari and hiking adventure combines wildlife, culture, and a taste of Mount Kilimanjaro. Explore four major parks of Tanzania’s Northern Circuit — Arusha, Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro — plus enjoy cultural encounters at Mto wa Mbu and a short trek on Africa’s tallest mountain.

You’ll travel in a private 4×4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof, charging sockets, fridge, and Wi-Fi (on request). Guided by an experienced driver/guide and accompanied by a safari cook, this journey balances budget-friendly camping with cultural immersion and unforgettable wildlife experiences.

DAY 1 – ARRIVAL IN ARUSHA

Pickup from Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport and transfer to your hotel. Optional Arusha city tour depending on arrival time.

DAY 2 – ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK & WALKING SAFARI

Morning drive to Arusha National Park for a combined game drive and walking safari. Explore montane forests, swamps, and Momella Lake with flamingos and black-and-white colobus monkeys. Return to Arusha for overnight.

DAY 3 – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for elephants and baobab trees. Game drive with picnic lunch before sunset. Overnight at campsite inside Tarangire.

DAY 4 – TARANGIRE & MTO WA MBU CULTURAL TOUR

Early game drive in Tarangire, then transfer to Mto wa Mbu. Afternoon cultural tour exploring banana farms, rice plantations, local tribes, and waterfalls (choice of walking or biking). Overnight at lodge.

DAY 5 – DRIVE TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Scenic drive via Ngorongoro Highlands into Serengeti. Picnic lunch at Naabi Hill Gate, followed by afternoon game drive before sunset. Overnight at Seronera campsite.

DAY 6 – FULL-DAY GAME DRIVE IN SERENGETI

Sunrise and full-day safari across Serengeti’s endless plains. Look for the Big Five and over 500 bird species. Picnic lunch in the bush before returning to camp.

DAY 7 – SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO HIGHLANDS

Morning game drive in Serengeti, then transfer to Ngorongoro Highlands. Dinner and overnight at Simba Campsite on the crater rim.

DAY 8 – NGORONGORO CRATER

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day safari with packed breakfast. Spot rhinos, lions, elephants, and hippos in one of Africa’s most famous wildlife sanctuaries. Afternoon return to Arusha.

DAY 9 – KILIMANJARO DAY HIKE (MARANGU ROUTE)

Drive to Marangu Gate (1,800m). Begin trek through lush rainforest to Mandara Hut (2,743m), with views of Maundi Crater. Picnic lunch before descending and transfer back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport for departure.
